Volleyball Goes 2-1 Over The Weekend

 

The Blue Knights volleyball team went 2-1 this past weekend at the Anoka Ramsey Volleyball Tournament. The Knights started off with a win against Rainy River in 4 sets (25-21,15 - 25, 25-14, 25-18). Destiny Cox and Sam Carr added 8 kills, while Chelsea Kiewel added 19 digs. Destiny also had 2 aces, and Haley Anderson had 2 aces.

 

The next match, the Knights came up a little short against Hibbing, losing in 4 sets (19-25, 25-17, 17-25, 17-25). Haley Anderson led the match with 8 kills and 16 digs, while Destiny Cox and Sonje Odegard added 6 kills. Chelsea Kiewel added 18 digs and Kasey King had a career high 5 aces.

 

The Blue Knights finished on a strong note, beating Itasca in 3 straight sets (31-29, 25-23, 25-16). Destiny Cox led the Knights and notched a season high 16 kills with a .387 hitting percentage. Sonje Odegard had 11 kills with an outstanding hitting percentage of .487! Anderson added 20 digs and Kiewel added 16 digs. The team played solid the entire match, and hit a season high .333 as a team.

 

 

The volleyball team travels to Mesabi Range on Friday and NIAAC on Sunday.
